This year's Region V Symposium kicked off this afternoon with keynote speaker Laura Cronquist, an epidemiologist at the North Dakota Department of Health, Division of Disease Control, and a discussion of the "10 Things You Should Know about Zika Virus." Zika virus has been getting a lot of attention since 2015 when Brazil's outbreak first took center stage, so I already had a pretty decent knowledge base on Zika. But this presentation was very helpful in updating us all on the latest news on the outbreak and on recommendations from the CDC (which were just updated on Friday).
